Dr. Maxmen is the owner and head veterinarian of Bradford Animal Hospital since 2019. He grew up surrounded by animals in Western Massachusetts, where both his parents were veterinarians and owned their own clinic. He attended UMASS Amherst prior to attending veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania. He then completed a very busy year of emergency medicine in Arizona before moving to the Bay Area in California, practicing both general practice and emergency medicine. While working as a veterinarian in California, Dr. Maxmen returned to academics, attending U.C. Berkeley and obtaining his Masters in Public Health in Infectious Diseases, Vaccinology, and Epidemiology. He then proceeded to U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine for a PhD program in Epidemiology. Throughout this time, Dr. Maxmen continued to practice full-time as an emergency and general practice veterinarian. After completing the coursework, Dr. Maxmen decided that being a practicing veterinarian was more rewarding than academia, and he decided to devote the rest of his career to caring for animals. After 10 years in California, Dr. Maxmen and his wife returned back home to Massachusetts to start a family. He has worked in various animal hospitals all throughout Boston, and was excited to finally find an opportunity to purchase Main Street Animal Hospital and make it his own. Dr. Maxmen is very excited to be an owner and to provide a high quality level of care, at an affordable price, in a family-oriented practice.
Dr. Maxmen and his wife share their home with a rambunctious 4 year old daughter and a 10 year old German Shepard/Australian Shepard named Mayz.

Meatloaf was just that - a big, lovable loaf. He loved to eat, meow, and "supervise" the staff. He liked walking around our hospital, introducing himself and meeting other pets. With not a care in the world, Meatloaf sure knew how much he was loved here at Bradford Animal Hospital! He will be surely missed by all.
